For the Durham Region 2019 Ontario Parasport Games

Michael Jordan – who knew a little bit about sport and success – once said, “Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.” The Executive Committee for our Games Organizing Committee is filled with people who make things happen.

Parasports Tour LeadershipGames Program Manager, Lori Talling is the Sport Tourism Co-ordinator for the Region of Durham. Lori brings 20 years of project management and communications expertise to the team.

Games Co-Chair, Emmy Iheme is a police officer with the Durham Region Police Service. A former professional soccer player, Emmy has served with Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport for 19 years, including responsibilities at Olympic, Paralympic, Pan Am and Parapan Am Games.

Games Co-Chair, Don Terry has 33 years of experience in communications and community building, along with a lifetime of involvement with sport. Don is Chair of Sport Durham and served with the Toronto Pan Am Games and the North American Indigenous Games.

Chair of Finance, Ernie Spraggs brings more than 30 years of experience as a Chartered Accountant and Chief Financial Officer for organizations, including Smart Centres and NorthWest Healthcare Properties.

Our Ministry of Culture, Tourism & Sport representatives are Ryan Albright and Greg Theriault. Ryan is a long-time resident of Durham Region, with more than 10 years of experience in sport management and event leadership. Greg has more than eight years of experience in sport management and event leadership, including almost four years with the Ontario Blind Sport Association.
